Blogs. I love them. They have given me ideas and projects I would have never come up with on my own. I hate them. They have given me so many ideas and projects that I don’t have the time, energy, and sometimes the finances to do! There a number of blogs I regularly visit, some on a daily basis.

Blogging is something I have thought about for a long time. So many friends and relatives have wanted to know what our home looks like and how it is coming along (very few have actually visited yet). Plus, I figured that there are very few bloggers my age and I wanted to show that age is just a number and shouldn’t stop you from doing what you are passionate about. However, my doubts have stopped me from following through. I mean, do I have the time? I am not a writer so would anyone want to read my blog? Would I have the commitment to regularly add a post?

After months and months of vacillating I have decided to jump in with both feet. This blog will be very eclectic. I mean, both my husband and I have a variety of interests and hobbies so be prepared for a mixed bag of topics!

For this first post, a little background. We are in our 60’s. I know our age is above most of the bloggers out there but, as our grandkids have said, we are not typical grandparents for our age. I am retired but my husband is still working for the VA. He likes cars, cameras, computers and movies and I like quilting, crocheting, a variety of needlework, decorating, gardening, and many different crafts. This doesn’t cover everything but gives an idea of our many interests.

We bought our 10 acres about 10 years ago and started building about 9 years ago. We were both working full time, lived almost an hour away, and with family issues, weather (Texas summers can be brutal), and health concerns, we finally moved into our house 2-1/2 years ago in October 2014. The house is still unfinished but is livable. I swore I would never live in a house that wasn’t finished but here we are!

I hope you enjoy reading about our little corner of the world! Thanks for stopping by!
